Carter Lumber Company in Akron is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to be the friendly face customers rely on in-store. You will share product information, advise on projects, and process transactions, with pay tied to commission.

Training covers products and the POS system, setting you up to grow within a family-owned, people-first retailer. You will follow up online quotes, qualify new leads via cold calls, and support Outside Sales Reps while helping with inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service is required.
• Friendly, outgoing personality is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to work well in a team and hit sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers who walk into the store by sharing product information and advising on projects.
• Provide estimates for packages or projects and process transactions.
• Follow up on online quotes and qualify new leads through cold calling.
• Support Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
• Assist in inventory control, including cycle counts and resolving shortages/overages.
