Job summary

Purvis Industries, a family-owned industrial distributor with over 75 years of experience, is seeking an Inside Sales Associate to support counter sales and customer inquiries.

You will prepare quotations, bids, and customer orders, maintain records, and collaborate with branch personnel to meet sales goals while delivering exceptional service.

The role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in inside sales, customer service, industrial distribution, warehouse, or related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with counter sales and customer service activities.
• Process internal and external customer inquiries received by phone, email, mail, online platforms, or other communication channels.
• Support outside sales personnel by preparing quotations, bids, and customer orders.
• Enter and maintain customer orders, quotes, bids, and related sales documentation.
• Purchase products necessary to fulfill customer orders.
• Quote and sell products that provide value to customers while supporting company profitability goals.
• Identify, contact, quote, and close sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers.
• Utilize electronic and printed catalogs to provide product, pricing, and availability information.
• Resolve customer concerns and requests or coordinate with management for additional support when necessary.
• Increase sales through cross selling, up selling, add on sales, promotional products, and new product offerings.
• Promote and sell excess inventory and discontinued products.
• Handle customer complaints, returns, and service issues professionally and courteously.
• Provide after hours support to internal and external customers when required.
• Maintain and expand product knowledge to effectively support customer needs.
• Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market activity.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Adhere to company policies, confidentiality requirements, ethical business standards, and conflict of interest guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer transactions.
• Collaborate with branch personnel and sales teams to support business objectives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
