Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support the branch by increasing revenue through equipment rentals and sales, building customer relationships, handling telemarketing, and assisting with collections.

The role emphasizes proactive service and cross-functional collaboration. You will expand rental and sales accounts, process quotes and contracts, educate customers on equipment usage and safety, and coordinate equipment pickups while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Strong customer service orientation and sales experience/skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Engineering aptitude: ability to size, quote, install and maintain large projects.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals’ policies.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of the rental business for specialty products and services.
• Establish new rental and sales accounts through telemarketing and by serving call-in customers.
• Process rental quotations, reservations, contracts and invoices per policy.
• Educate customers on proper equipment usage and safety procedures.
• Ensure contract information is accurate in the branch system.
• Coordinate and track daily equipment pickups and returns.
• Run reports to monitor equipment and facilitate operations.
• Coordinate with branch staff to deliver customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of branch assets.
