Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to drive branch revenue by renting and selling equipment, servicing customers, and coordinating branch operations. You will support the branch plan, manage call-ins and telemarketing, and collaborate with teammates to optimize service delivery.

The role requires strong sales experience, customer service orientation, and the ability to size and quote large projects. A valid driver’s license and reliable communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and sales experience/skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Engineering aptitude to size, quote, install and maintain large projects.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per company policies.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of the rental business for specialty products and services.
• Establish new rental and sales accounts via telemarketing and call‑ins.
• Process quotations, reservations, contracts and invoices per policies.
• Educate customers on proper equipment usage and safety procedures.
• Ensure accuracy of contract information in the branch system.
• Coordinate and track daily equipment pickups and returns.
• Run reports to monitor equipment and support operations.
• Coordinate with branch staff to deliver customer satisfaction.
• Maintain inventory records of branch assets.
