Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a skilled professional to sell and purchase metal and related materials for OEMs, fabricators, distributors, and other metal users. You will quote pricing, prepare contracts, and manage orders to meet customer requirements.

The role involves communicating with customers via phone, fax, email, and in person, ensuring accurate orders and timely delivery while maximizing gross profit. On-site, fast-paced environment with emphasis on service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be able to calculate figures and amounts including discounts and pricing.
• Able to read simple customer part drawings and sketches to provide quotations.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Confer with customers by phone, fax, email, and in person to provide information and take orders or obtain details of complaints.
• Figure material usage according to customer requirements and requests.
• Calculate and quote pricing of materials and processing to customers.
• Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Prepare purchase orders for orders obtained.
• Review all orders entered for accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Enter all orders and buyouts into the computer system.
• Monitor all orders to assure delivery to customer as promised.
• Contact customer to relay delivery issues in a timely manner.
• Initiate and follow up on all customer service issues to closure.
• Arrange for inspection, return and credit of non-compliant material.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate with appropriate personnel to maintain levels.
• Work with Purchasing to sell material that is slow moving or scrap.
