Job summary

Ledgent Technology seeks an Inside Sales Engineer in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will manage and grow existing accounts, identify new sales opportunities, and develop distributor relationships, delivering technical support and pricing guidance.

The ideal candidate has a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, 2+ years in inside/technical sales or customer-facing roles, and strong communication skills. Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts
• Identify new sales opportunities within current and emerging accounts
• Develop distributor relationships
• Generate leads through inside sales activities and promotions
• Respond to web leads, RFQs, sizing requests, and customer inquiries
• Recommend products based on customer application requirements
• Provide pricing, delivery, RMA, and customer service support
• Deliver technical troubleshooting and product support
• Maintain CRM records and sales activity documentation
• Prepare monthly sales reports
• Gather and share market intelligence
• Attend trade shows, customer events, and training programs

Inside Sales Engineer Must Haves

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - candidates without will not be considered. New grads are welcome to apply.
• Location: Elk Grove Village IL - Occasional trade shows and sales meetings (must have reliable transportation and clean driving record)
• Salary: $75,000-$82,500 + 10% bonus (Hourly, Non-Exempt)
• Location: Fully onsite
• Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years of inside sales, technical sales, account management, or customer-facing technical support experience
• Strong relationship-building and account development skills
• Experience working with customers via phone, email, virtual meetings, and CRM systems
• Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain product applications
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• BSEE or BSME preferred
