Job summary

SPEC Building Materials Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking an Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate to handle order placement, pricing, delivery coordination, and other customer service duties. You will be the customer's first point of contact in a fast-paced wholesale environment.

Responsibilities include selling building materials at the counter, growing the existing customer base through quotes and follow-up, sourcing special orders, and ensuring orders are accurate and timely.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization and communication skills are essential.
• Experience in a building materials-related industry is preferred.
• Solid math skills and numerical accuracy are important.

Responsibilities

• Selling building materials to customers from the service counter.
• Maintaining and growing the customer base through prospecting, quotes, and follow-up.
• Sourcing special order items for contractors.
• Ensuring all sales orders are accurate and complete.
• Advising customers on inventory levels and pricing.
• Cash application and reporting.
• Answering the phone and directing calls.
• Scheduling and coordinating deliveries for customers.
