Job summary

Preston Feather Building Centers in Petoskey, MI is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to be the customer’s first contact, ensuring a positive experience. You will perform front-counter sales of building materials and assist contractors by answering questions and guiding toward the best solutions.

Responsibilities include entering orders in POS, processing transactions, assisting with stock and inventory, and supporting deliveries with the sales team.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience strongly preferred.
• Hardware knowledge a plus.
• Prior experience using a POS system or ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Accurately entering orders in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Processing sales transactions per Preston Feather policies for pricing, discounts, payment and credit memo terms.
• Assisting with stock receiving, merchandising, and inventory cycle counts.
• Sporadically retrieving materials from yard and loading into customer vehicles, up to 50 lbs.
• Guide customers through sales, orders, and service.
• Partner with sales team on deliveries.
• Sell hardware and handle smaller projects.
• Use Spruce ERP software for orders and payments.
