Job summary

NETZSCH Pumps & Systems USA in Exton, PA is seeking a mechanically inclined Inside Sales Application Engineer to prepare proposals based on defined requirements and to enter orders through manufacturing and shipping.

You will focus on customer service, prepare detailed quotes, and coordinate with engineering, operations, and regional sales to support orders and applications. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent in a mechanical field.
• 2 years of experience as an application engineer or similar.
• Strong aptitude in hydraulic engineering and problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and diagrams.
• Good written and verbal communication with customers and teams.
• Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for pumps, parts and systems based on specs.
• Communicate with customers, representatives and direct accounts via phone and email.
• Process orders into the system and support manufacturing teams.
• Support engineering and quality control during testing and repairs.
• Assist regional sales managers with follow-up on quotations.
• Travel with Regional Sales Manager to customer sites and applications.

Job Description

NETZSCH Pumps USA is looking for a competent, mechanically-inclined individual to work as an Inside Sales Application Engineer in their Exton, PA facility. The Sales Application Engineer’s main responsibility is to prepare proposals based on a clearly defined set of requirements issued by an end-user, engineering firm and/or contractor, an OEM or an independent sales representative/distributor. In addition, the Sales Application Engineer must also be able to enter the order and follow up throughout the manufacturing and shipping process.

Focusing on customer service, and offering NETZSCH pumps as the best solution for their needs, the Sales Application Engineer will perform the following duties among others:

• Prepare detailed quotations for pumps, parts, and systems based on technical and commercial specifications.
• Communicate via phone and email with customers, representatives and direct accounts such as OEM’s.
• Process orders into the system accurately and support the engineering and operations teams throughout the order entry and manufacturing processes.
• Support manufacturing, engineering and quality control teams on testing activities and when pumps are returned to the factory for repairs.
• Support the regional sales managers with the follow-up process on open quotations.
• Travel with the Regional Sales Manager periodically to become exposed to customers and applications in the various regions.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a technical degree with 2 years previous experience as an application engineer in a similar mechanical field, or similar combination of education and experience. Strong aptitude and/or previous experience in hydraulic engineering required. In addition, candidates should have:

• The ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, commercial terms, P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• The ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and the ability to problem solve.
• A valid driver’s license and current passport or the ability to obtain passport upon hire.
