Salesfolks has been retained to recruit multiple Inside Sales Account Executives for an established, privately held pharmaceutical and medical-supply distributor in Sterling, Virginia.

This is a sales role for someone who knows how to create conversations, build trust over the phone, follow up relentlessly, and turn activity into revenue.

You do not need a background in pharmaceuticals or healthcare.

The company will teach you the market, the products, the customer base, and the sales playbook.

What matters most is that you are a strong outbound salesperson: ambitious, coachable, persistent, organized, and motivated by the opportunity to build real income through consistent sales execution.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not traditional pharmaceutical sales.

You will not be driving from doctor’s office to doctor’s office promoting one branded medication.

You will work from the company’s Sterling office and sell a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical and medical products to licensed healthcare organizations across the country.

The company serves hospitals, inpatient pharmacies, surgery centers, infusion centers, long-term care providers, government agencies, and other licensed healthcare buyers.

Your job is to develop business relationships, identify customer needs, quote opportunities, close orders, and grow accounts over time.

This is not a passive order-taking job. It is also not a narrow appointment-setting job. This is a full-cycle inside sales role where strong performers can build customer relationships that become increasingly valuable over time.

The Earnings Opportunity

This is a base-plus-commission sales role.

A representative performing at expected levels has the opportunity to earn approximately $90,000–$120,000 in total annual compensation, or more.

The company has also demonstrated substantially higher earnings for sustained top performers under its base-plus-commission structure.

Based on current compensation records, the company’s top sustained sales performer earned a median of nearly $300,000 in total median annual compensation over a five-year period. Other leading performers have experienced similar levels of success.

These figures are not guarantees. Individual earnings depend on performance, customer development, account growth, market conditions, and the company’s commission plan.

They do, however, show that the upside is real for people who can sell, stay consistent, learn the business, and build long-term customer relationships.

What Top Performers Do Well

The best people in this role are not simply “good with customers.” They are disciplined revenue generators.

Top performers tend to:

  • Create a high volume of productive customer conversations
  • Prospect consistently instead of waiting for inbound demand
  • Follow up quickly and repeatedly
  • Build trust with buyers over time
  • Learn customer buying patterns and sourcing needs
  • Stay organized across many accounts and opportunities
  • Quote quickly and accurately
  • Convert opportunities into orders
  • Re-engage past or inactive customers
  • Grow repeat business through responsiveness and reliability
  • Maintain a strong daily focus on sales activity that can produce revenue

The company’s strongest performers succeed because they combine outbound sales discipline with long-term account ownership.

What You Will Sell

The company distributes a broad range of products used by healthcare organizations, including:

  • Prescription pharmaceuticals
  • Injectable medications
  • Biological products
  • Over-the-counter products
  • Medical and surgical supplies
  • Sterile and clean-room supplies
  • Personal protective equipment

You do not need to arrive as a product expert. The company will train you.

The more important question is whether you can learn, pick up the phone, create opportunities, follow through, and sell.

Who You Will Sell To

Customers and prospective customers may include:

  • Hospitals and health systems
  • Inpatient and institutional pharmacies
  • Surgery centers
  • Specialty healthcare facilities
  • Other licensed healthcare buyers

These are professional B2B customers who value responsiveness, accuracy, product availability, documentation, and trust.

What You Will Do

As an Inside Sales Account Executive, you will:

  • Prospect for new customers by phone, email, and other approved channels
  • Build relationships with healthcare buyers, pharmacy personnel, procurement professionals, and other decision‑makers
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • Manage and grow customer accounts
  • Reconnect with current, former, and inactive customers
  • Learn customer purchasing patterns and sourcing needs
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes
  • Convert customer conversations into completed business
  • Grow repeat purchasing relationships over time
  • Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, and activity records in the company’s CRM
  • Work with internal sourcing, pricing, operations, and customer support teams
  • Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally
  • Meet sales, activity, and revenue expectations
  • Stay focused on daily revenue‑generating activity
Who We Are Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you are:

  • An ambitious outbound salesperson
  • Comfortable making calls and initiating conversations
  • Confident communicating by phone and email
  • Motivated by commission and performance‑based income
  • Persistent without being reckless or overly aggressive
  • Strong at building rapport and earning trust
  • Organized and consistent with follow‑up
  • Coachable and willing to learn a specialized market
  • Competitive, professional, and accountable
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Interested in building long‑term account value
  • Comfortable working onsite in Sterling, Virginia
Experience That May Fit

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • High‑volume outbound sales
  • Phone‑based sales
  • Customer reactivation
  • Medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sales

Healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is helpful, but it is not required.

The company is more interested in candidates who have demonstrated outbound sales ability, resilience, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow income through performance.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Prior sales, business development, account management, or closely related experience
  • Experience prospecting or developing customer relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional telephone presence
  • The ability to build rapport with customers
  • Strong follow‑up and organizational skills
  • Solid computer skills and email proficiency, with the ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Experience using a CRM or the ability to learn one quickly
  • The ability to work full‑time onsite in Sterling, Virginia
  • Authorization to work in the United States

The employer currently offers:

  • Group health insurance with three plan options
  • Employees become eligible for health insurance after three months of employment
  • Once eligible, the company contributes 50% toward the cost of coverage
  • Paid time off after three months of employment
  • 12 PTO days annually after the initial three‑month period
  • 15 PTO days annually after one full year of service
  • Major holidays
  • Product, market, systems, and sales‑process training
  • The opportunity to build and manage long‑term customer relationships

This is a full‑time onsite position based in Sterling, Virginia.

The company believes the office environment helps new salespeople learn the business, absorb the sales playbook, collaborate with internal teams, and build momentum faster.

Candidates should be able to commute reliably to the Sterling office on a daily basis.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role may be a strong opportunity for someone who wants:

  • A real outbound sales role with meaningful upside
  • A base salary plus commission
  • A proven earnings path for top performers
  • The ability to manage customer relationships over time
  • A broad product portfolio instead of one narrow product line
  • A specialized B2B market with recurring customer needs
  • The chance to build account value through consistency, follow‑up, and trust

This is a role for someone who wants to sell.

If you are looking for a comfortable seat where most opportunities are handed to you, this may not be the right fit. But if you are ambitious, disciplined, and willing to learn a specialized market, this can be a serious long‑term sales opportunity.
