Job summary

Richards Building Supply in Peoria, IL is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to be the backbone of our contractor and professional customer relationships. You will provide expert guidance, process orders, and help customers choose the right products.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of customer-facing experience in sales/retail/distribution.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; CRM experience a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Industry knowledge is a plus, training available.
• Spanish-speaking skills are an advantage but not required.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them find the right products for their projects.
• Handle inbound and outbound customer interactions—phone or in-person—ensuring every customer feels valued.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales reps to drive sales and resolve customer needs.
• Process orders, track inventory, and coordinate product transfers to meet customer demands.
• Educate customers on promotions, new products, and industry trends to maximize sales opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records, process payments, and ensure seamless order fulfillment.

What You'll Do:

$25 - $29 an hour

Compensation is based on knowledge of our business and years of experience.
