Butler Supply, Inc. is seeking a Sales Support professional to back our Outside Sales team. You will generate quotes, source and price material, and pursue existing and new customers while delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities include order follow-up, problem resolution, product education, and accurate data entry of orders and inventory. A positive, upbeat atmosphere and safety-minded approach are valued.

Summary

Provides Sales Support for Outside Salespersons, generating job quotes, sourcing and pricing material. Pursue existing and potential customers, servicing and growing existing accounts as well as developing new sales. Educate customers as to new products and promotions. Assists at Counter as needed. Generates sales through excellent customer service, add-on and up-selling. Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Outside Sales support, producing professional job quotes as needed or requested, sourcing and pricing material. Perform appropriate follow up to gain sale or determine causes for lost sales.
• Follow-up/expedite customer orders, resolve problems to the customer’s satisfaction, respond timely to customer.
• Actively & routinely pursue business through new and existing customers and/or opportunities. Make phone sales calls to existing and potential customers on a regular basis. Introduce and educate customers as to product lines, availability, pricing, delivery, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. Answers questions, provide information as needed.
• Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc.
• Conduct sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner. Maintain positive attitude towards customers and co-workers by being friendly and courteous.
• Data entry and retrieval on computer system, including entering of customer orders, branch transfers, quotation information, inventory information, pricing.
• Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and providing excellent customer service.
• Continuously update product knowledge through any available resources. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Maintain an appropriate understanding of product applications and assist customers in their selections.
• Participate in ongoing education and training as directed or desired.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
• Assist in year-end physical inventories as requested.
• Perform other responsibilities as directed or needed to ensure total customer satisfaction.

Abilities and Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach or carry.
• Occasionally required climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently required to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally required to maneuver up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
• Regularly required to talk and hear; read and identify numbers
• Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
• Required to be able to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and/or wire-cutting machine.
