Job summary

CHARTER SCHOOL OF INQUIRY in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and reinforce lessons across math and literacy. This full-time, on-site role focuses on helping prepare materials, managing classrooms, and ensuring a safe, respectful learning environment.

You will monitor student progress, provide feedback, supervise transitions, and participate in events and professional development to support an inclusive learning community.

Qualifications

• Ability to support Assistant Teaching and Education activities, including reinforcing lesson plans and helping deliver classroom instruction.
• Strong Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with students, teachers, families, and colleagues.
• Comfort with Mathematics and basic academic subjects, with the ability to help students practice skills and complete assignments.
• Experience Working With Children in educational or youth-focused settings, demonstrating patience, empathy, and positive behavior support.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to follow school policies, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities
