Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required.
• Clinical background in a human services setting with children and families.
• BLS certification current or obtained within three months of hire.
• Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge (word processing, email, web).
• Demonstrate organization and efficiency in performance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates daily mental health therapy groups with patients on the units.
• Provides 1:1 mental health counseling using evidence-based techniques.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to develop multidisciplinary plans from admission to discharge.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Completes timely safety rounds to maintain unit safety.
• Communicates therapeutically with patients to support coping and reflection.
• Conducts assessments including suicide screening and rights/documentation.
• Maintains a holistic approach addressing physical, psych/social, spiritual, and educational needs.
