Job summary

Universal Health Services' Clive Behavioral Health in Clive, IA, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to join its inpatient program serving adults, children and adolescents in crisis. As part of the treatment team, MHT provides continuous patient care under the RN, supports stabilization and discharge planning, and participates in daily safety and de-escalation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR, and CNA preferred; weekend and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA preferred; degree in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
• Two years of related psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; mandatory reporter training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling under RN supervision.
• Assist with crisis management, stabilization and discharge planning as directed by the treatment team.
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to support safety and effective care plans.
