Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Nurse to serve across acute, chronic, and community settings. You will assess, treat, and manage complex wounds, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote healing.

Your leadership will help coordinate care touchpoints and ensure evidence-based wound protocols are followed. The role requires a current Louisiana nursing license and BLS certification, with preferred BSN and WOCN certification.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Experience in specialized wound care.
• WOCN certification within 2 years of employment (required).
• BSN degree preferred; WOCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, assess, and treat chronic and acute wounds.
• Perform procedures: debridement, wound cleaning, bandaging.
• Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints to promote healing.
• Collaborate with team for appropriate wound care.
• Educate staff, patients, and caregivers on wound care protocols.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure infection control.
• Monitor patient changes and communicate with care team.
• Assist supervisor when tasks cannot be completed safely.
