Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Hartford Hospital seeks a dedicated Wound Care/Ostomy Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Wound Team, providing expert care for acute and chronic wounds, ostomy and continence issues.

The role requires a BSN, preferably WOCNCB certification, and weekend coverage. You’ll educate patients and families, collaborate with the care team, and document care in the EMR to support optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• WOCNCB accredited education program with current certification preferred.
• Recent acute care experience; weekend coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomy and continence issues.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates patients, families and staff on wound and ostomy care.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed.
• Uses evidence-based guidelines to treat skin and wound conditions.
• Participates in orientation, training and quality improvement activities.
• Documents care accurately in the EMR.
• Works with the Inpatient WOCN Team at Hartford Hospital.
