Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking a WOCN RN Acute to provide expert wound/ostomy/continence care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for acute and chronic wounds, fistulae, and skin issues within a busy clinical team.

The role requires CT RN licensure, enrollment in a WOCN program within one year, and eventual board certification. EPIC EHR experience and strong communication are essential, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Licensed RN with CT DPH in good standing.
Enrollment in a WOCN Society Accredited Educational Program within one year of hire.
Board certification in wound/ostomy/continence within defined timeline after enrollment.
BLS certification and strong English communication.

Responsibilities

Coordinate care for patient populations and develop protocols based on outcomes.
Educate patients, families, and staff; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide formal and informal wound/ostomy/continence consultations and leadership.
Act as a professional representative of Hartford HealthCare.
Advocate for patient rights and safety and effective inter-disciplinary collaboration.
