Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a PRN Weekend WOCN to provide specialized nursing care in wound, ostomy, and continence management. The role covers assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for ostomy patients and complex wounds.

The ideal candidate has a WOC certification and about 5 years of nursing experience, with strong independence and collaborative skills. Weekend scheduling is required, with flexible hours to support patient care needs.

Qualifications

• WOC certification required.
• Approximately 5 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge of wound, ostomy, and continence care.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Availability to meet required weekend coverage schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health team members in management and education of patients with bowel/urinary elimination issues and wound care.
• Develops and maintains ostomy/wound care programs and education for staff.
• Investigates and implements best practice guidelines for safe wound, ostomy, continence care.
• Coordinates with departments to document reports and records for the specialty.
• Engages with Supply Chain to assess ostomy/wound care products aligned with institutional goals.
