Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology, veterinary nursing, or veterinary science recommended.
• 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a fast-paced hospital.
• One year experience at a university hospital or large-scale hospital.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, manage and implement treatment plans for inpatients and exotic cases.
• Instruct veterinary students and technicians in technical patient care.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals; handle controlled substances per SOPs.
• Assist in academic and clinical research involving treated animals.
• Provide coverage for other sections as needed and complete CE requirements annually.
