Job summary

Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Inpatient Medicine Veterinary Technician III to deliver advanced nursing care and supervise junior staff. You will teach veterinary students and technicians, supervise procedures, and coordinate care with clinicians in a high-volume hospital.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician, with strong pharmacology knowledge and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician in a veterinary university setting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume hospital.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, pharmacology and adverse drug reactions.
• Experience teaching students and mentoring junior staff is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced patient nursing care and assist clinicians with procedures.
• Monitor treatment plans, coordinate with the care team, and communicate changes.
• Teach veterinary students and technicians; mentor new staff and interns.
• Maintain clinical areas, inventory, and equipment; handle controlled substances.
• Contribute to CE training and participate in hospital initiatives.
