Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to support inpatient consults in the Vascular Surgery department. The role emphasizes inpatient-focused care with occasional outpatient support, working a 4-10 hour day schedule and Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday with Thursdays off.
You will diagnose, manage, and treat a broad range of vascular conditions, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and staff in a high‑quality healthcare
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited program for nursing or physician assistant.
- Acute care certification required; inpatient experience considered in lieu of acute care certification.
- Current RN license in Illinois and APRN license; board certification as APRN per Illinois rules.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical exams for inpatients.
- Provide direct clinical care and prescribe medications as appropriate.
- Educate patients/families and document care and procedures in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals and participate in quality initiatives.
