Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Vascular Surgery team. The role will primarily cover inpatient consults with periodic outpatient clinic support, focusing on inpatient care.

The APRN/PA will collaborate with vascular surgeons, manage complex patient cohorts, provide education to patients and staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and research as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in nursing or PA program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs (inpatient experience acceptable).
• Active Illinois RN license and APRN credentialing with Illinois Board approval.
• Certified by a national certifying body and eligible for CS license/DEA as applicable.
• BLS/CPR certification as per clinical privileges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient consults and occasional outpatient clinic support, primarily inpatient‑focused.
• Provide direct clinical care, prescribe medications, and interpret tests per privileges.
• Collaborate with vascular surgeons and other health professionals in patient care.
• Educate patients, families, and staff; mentor students and contribute to quality initiatives.
