Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work in our Cardiovascular Surgery department. This APP will be inpatient ICU and/or OR with a schedule of 4 ten-hour shifts, including rotating holidays and weekends, with call required.

The role requires a Master’s degree, acute care certification, and active Illinois RN/APRN licensure with board certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or PA program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs.
• Illinois RN and APRN licenses with state and national certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations.
• Provides direct clinical care and prescribes therapies as appropriate.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals for optimal patient care.
• Educates patients and families and documents care in the medical record.
• Maintains licensure, credentials, and ongoing professional development.
