Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Technician to support remote telemonitoring through the Telesitting - Virtual Safety Tech program. Under RN supervision, you will perform delegated clinical tasks, monitor patients, and communicate changes promptly.

The role involves direct patient care, safety checks, data collection, transfers, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure quality, safety, and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required
• BLS CPR certification current or obtained within 30 days of employment
• Prior video monitoring experience preferred
• One year CNA/PCT experience in acute hospital setting
• Fluency in another language a plus

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care interventions under RN supervision
• Collaborates with safety team to assess remote telemonitoring suitability
• Collects and documents vital signs, I&O, blood glucose, weights, and other data
• Initiates rapid response to alarms and patient condition changes
• Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer for remote safety observer protocol
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, basic patient testing as directed
• Maintains patient records per hospital standards
• Provides basic hygiene, feeding, and comfort measures
