Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support remote telemonitoring and direct patient care under RN supervision. The role collaborates with the safety team to ensure safe, high-quality care across units and is pivotal in maintaining patient comfort and accurate documentation.

The position emphasizes safe handling of monitoring equipment, timely response to alarms, and assisting with admissions, discharges, and routine care tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• One year of CNA/PCT experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated patient care interventions under RN direction.
• Collaborate with safety team to assess remote telemonitoring per safety protocol.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other data per documentation standards.
• Perform EKGs and phlebotomy as directed.
• Assist with admission, discharge, transfer and room readiness for remote observer protocol.
• Monitor patients using telemonitoring equipment and respond promptly to alarms.
