Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program from an accredited school of allied health services required.
• Three years continuous experience in an operating room preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during and after surgery.
• Scrub and circulating duties in the operating room, instrumentation and supplies management.
• Performs routine and specialized housekeeping activities; applies asepsis, infection control and medical ethics.
• Training newly assigned personnel; patient safety and confidentiality maintained at all times.
• Assumes responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
