AdventHealth is seeking an experienced hospital coder to join our team in Tampa. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient cases, ensuring accurate DRG assignments and regulatory alignment across complex surgeries.

The role requires CCS/RHIA/RHIT/CPC certifications and 4+ years of acute care coding experience, with strong attention to detail and collaboration with CDI and coding teams.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv; 4+ years acute care hospital coding experience including heavy PCS coding of complex surgeries.
• Certified coding credentials CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC are required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, IPPS, and CDI processes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient surgical and procedure-based records.
• Ensures accurate DRG assignment reflecting procedures and patient acuity.
• Reviews documentation to validate coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain productivity and turnaround times to support DNFB and revenue cycle performance.
