Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant/UAP to provide patient care in a 7p-7a shift, every other weekend and holiday. Responsibilities include ADLs, vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs and documentation, with a focus on safety and quality care.

Minimum requirements include a HS diploma, 6 months of relevant experience or enrollment in an LPN/RN program, and completion of Capital Health UAP training. AED certification and stroke CE are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• High school diploma or GED; six months nursing assistant or health aide experience preferred.
• Successful completion of Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and vital signs; perform phlebotomy and glucometer testing as directed.
• Transport patients, medications, supplies and specimens as needed.
• Document care activities and report changes to the registered nurse.
• Follow policies, procedures and safety protocols; use equipment properly.
• Maintain supplies and unit cleanliness; stock as required.
