Job summary

Mercy Health’s The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgery Department. The OR RN will deliver high-quality perioperative care, coordinate with the surgical team, and ensure patient safety across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op stages.

Requires an accredited nursing degree, current RN licensure, BLS and ACLS/PALS preferred, CNOR and SGNA favorable; two years of critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support; ACLS or PALS preferred at hire (must obtain from approved source)
• CNOR and SGNA preferred but not required
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department (preferred)
• Peri-op 101 training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team and maintain a safe environment.
• Manage nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinate needs with the team.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including instructions.
• Other duties as assigned
