Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Texas license to practice SLP.
• ASHA certification preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility in the care of the patient.
• Performs comprehensive evaluation with physician referral.
• Interprets evaluation findings.
• Develops a plan of care and goals; implements a comprehensive program.
• Implements a speech-language pathology treatment program.
• Reassesses status and adjusts goals and program as needed.
• Communicates with patient and family; collaborates with professionals.
• Documents in the medical record and completes duties accurately.
• May serve as Clinical Instructor for Speech interns.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary constraints.
• Supports ongoing education and professional development and acts as mentor.
