Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse – Inpatient to deliver expert nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process. You will collaborate with families, physicians and health-team members, documenting plans and outcomes.

Responsibilities include data collection, individualized planning, care coordination and evaluating progress. You will participate in governance and unit projects while adhering to ANA standards and evidence-based

Qualifications

• BSN required and current IL RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• ACLS and PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire for ER; TNCC within one year for Pediatric ER.
• PALS, TNCC and ACLS certifications may be required for add-on areas in ER/Pediatric ER.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
• Interacts with patient, family and health team while following ANA standards.
• Collects and analyzes data, develops an individualized plan and evaluates outcomes.
• Directs care and utilization of assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff; documents the plan of care and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and uses evidence to guide practice decisions.
