Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred. BSN required for those newly hired or promoted after Oct 1, 2025.
• Active RN license in Indiana or a valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred; exceptions possible with more than two years.
• BLS certification – American Heart Association – must be obtained prior to orientation.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Float pool RN providing care across medical-surgical, progressive care, critical care, emergency, and specialty units across IU Health facilities.
• Coordinate care from assessment to outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation with multidisciplinary teams.
• Actively participate in clinical decision-making, teaching, mentoring and collaboration to improve patient care plans and outcomes.
• Adapt to real-time staffing needs and support operational efficiency across the system.
