Job summary

Avera is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients across speech, language, cognition, voice and dysphagia in a hospital setting. The role involves developing individualized plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

Hours are typically days with occasional weekends; the position is PRN/as-needed. A valid state license or CFY eligibility and ASHA credentials are required or in process.

Qualifications

• CCC-SLP or active supervision with CFY within one year of employment
• Active state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology required or in process with CFY
• ASHA-credentialed or eligible for licensure preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using formal and informal assessments to determine needs across speech, language, cognition, voice and dysphagia.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for speech-language pathology.
• Provide direct therapy in multiple settings and adjust plans per patient progress.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation, medical and nursing teams to align goals with care plans.
• Document evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes and reports.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians and care team about status and needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in department program development.
