Job summary

Exalt Health, LLC. seeks a Health Information Management (HIM) Coordinator to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient health information in a rehabilitation hospital setting. The role supports EMR management, regulatory compliance, and data analysis.

Responsibilities include audits, release of information, credentialing reports, and collaboration with coding and billing teams while delivering strong customer service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• RHIT certification is required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Management preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare setting experience (inpatient rehab preferred).
• Experience with EMR systems required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient health records following regulatory standards (HIPAA, CIHQ).
• Process requests for medical records and release of information procedures.
• Manage the EMR system including user access and data integrity.
• Conduct regular audits of health records and improve deficiencies.
• Collaborate on credentialing reports and healthcare customer service workflows.
• Support coding staff to ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
