Job summary

UKG is seeking a Rad Tech Assistant (Inpatient/Hospital Medical Center) for on-site, part-time work in Chesapeake, VA. The role supports the Diagnostic Radiology Department under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.

You will produce high-quality images, review orders, adhere to ALARA and MRI safety guidelines, transport patients, and educate families about exams and outcomes. BLS within 1 month is required, with first-year radiologic tech/MRI training completed.

Qualifications

• Student in an accredited radiologic technology or MRI program.
• First-year radiology coursework completed.
• BLS certification within 1 month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality images through proper positioning and technique.
• Review chart for physician orders and follow protocols.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines to keep exposure ALARA.
• Transport patients as needed and assist as required.
• Educate patients and families about the exam and outcomes.
• Report equipment issues and low inventory to supervisor.
