Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for inpatient PRN assignments at Jeff Hwy. The role assesses patients and performs routine radiographic procedures following safety protocols, serving as a clinical mentor to junior staff and students.

Required: completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days, and current BLS. Exceptional flexibility to work varied shifts and travel between facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Performs quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
