Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks a Radiologic Technologist for the OLG Urgent Care Center. This PRN position performs routine radiographic procedures, mentors staff, and ensures safety and quality in imaging services.

The ideal candidate has completed an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry-eligibility within 90 days, and holds a current state license with BLS. The role requires flexibility to cover various shifts and facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry-eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment independently according to protocol, including potential placement of lines or contrast administration.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures in accordance with standards and regulations.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
