Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and direct nursing care for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression, and other mental health needs. You will assess and plan individualized care, administer medications, and document progress in a collaborative psychiatric setting.

This 12-hour shift position emphasizes leadership, clinical excellence, and adherence to Joint Commission and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to adapt to a high stress environment and assess potential for patient escalation.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external customers.
• Exhibits critical thinking and leads others.
• Must complete CPR certification and Oceans approved de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process to formulate individualized care plans and interventions.
• Administer medications as prescribed and educate patients on medications.
• Document patient care, responses, and progress in medical records.
• Coordinate care and transcribe physician orders following policy.
• Float among clinical services and support staff as needed.
