Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin in Midland, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead patient care across inpatient psychiatric services. You will follow the nursing process, document thoroughly, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety and wellbeing.

This role requires current RN license in Texas, at least an Associate Degree in Nursing, CPR certification, and completion of Oceans approved de-escalation program.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• CPR certification and Oceans approved behavioral health de‑escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to develop individualized care.
• Identifies risk levels and discharge planning tailored to each client.
• Demonstrates psychiatric nursing interventions and documents progress.
• Administers medications safely and educates patients on prescriptions.
• Maintains professionalism and accurate reporting.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders and updates medical records.
• Communicates effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Manages staff assignments and advocates for patient safety.
• Uses nursing resources to support evidence-based practice.
• Float among services and perform assigned duties.
