Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our inpatient psychiatric team. You will lead milieu management, administer medications, and collaborate with staff to deliver compassionate care to adults and seniors with anxiety and depression.

Eligible RNs must hold an active state license (compact licenses accepted), have at least an associate degree in nursing, and be prepared for 12-hour rotating shifts. Sponsorships are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
• One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation to formulate an individualized plan of care and treatment modalities.
• Identifies risk levels and expected outcomes, including discharge planning and intervention evaluation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric disorders and appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administers medications as prescribed safely and educates patients on prescribed meds.
• Maintains professional standards and documentation of care and progress.
• Reviews, revises, and updates medical records per policy and ensures continuity of care.
