Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem patient care professional for 1 North, an inpatient unit focused on psychotic disorders. The role provides direct care to psychiatric patients, maintaining safety and therapeutic milieu on the unit, with at least four 8-hour shifts per month, including two on weekends.

Responsibilities include assisting with care, advocating for vulnerable patients, family counseling, documenting thoroughly, and collaborating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree not specified.
• BLS certification required; CNA/LNA preferred.
• Experience 0–1 year preferred.
• Ability to operate in an Electronic Health Records (EHR) environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients.
• Advocate for vulnerable patients needing support.
• Parent/Family counseling, including Parent Management Training and Family Systems interventions.
• Adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (suicide, abuse or AWOL precautions).
• Provides shift-to-shift report and remains on the unit during incoming shift.
• Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
• Completes and files documentation in a timely manner.
