Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient services. Responsibilities include preparing drug orders for pharmacists, replenishing Pyxis, and maintaining IV prep with aseptic technique.

You will monitor refrigerator temperatures and assist with inventory and billing duties. The role requires PA RPT registration on hire, with NJ techs needing NJ registration within 180 days and PTCB certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PA Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) required on hire.
• NJ pharmacy techs must obtain NJ registration within 180 days of hire.
• PTCB certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for review and dispensing by a Pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Performs medication dispensing and distribution to patient areas and restocks inventory.
• Records waste and supports billing/crediting functions per hospital policies.
• Picks up physician orders and prepares IVs using aseptic technique; transports IVs to the nursing floor.
• Maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, and automation systems.
