Job summary

Jefferson is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient services under the Pharmacy Manager and supervising pharmacists. You will prepare drug orders, replenish Pyxis, perform sterile compounding, restock inventory, and handle IV preparation with aseptic techniques.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, 2 years hospital tech experience, 1 year sterile compounding, metric calculation proficiency, and NJ registration within 180 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year of sterile compounding experience.
• Proficiency with metric conversions and ratios (90% calculation pass).
• CPhT certification upon hire and RPT registration upon hire.
• NJ registration within 180 days of hire; PTCB certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders from physicians for pharmacist review and dispensing.
• Replenish Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temperatures with documented actions.
• Count, compound, and repack pharmaceuticals per procedures; dispense medications to patient areas.
• Restock inventory and restock carts; ensure proper waste documentation.
• Perform IV aseptic preparation and transportation of IVs to nursing floors.
• Maintain competencies for IV lab, Pyxis, and automation systems; complete inspections as required.
