Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; must be registered as Pharmacy Technician in PA.
• For NJ entities, technicians must obtain and maintain NJ Board registration within 180 days of hire.
• All new hires must obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification within 12 months of hire or provide proof of completion of a formal training program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders from physicians for review and dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Replenish all Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temperatures with documentation.
• Distribute medications to patient areas and perform dispensing duties.
• Maintain inventory: restock pharmacy supplies and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Document and bill for medications dispensed according to hospital policies.
