Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and distribution. The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under direct supervision of staff pharmacists.

Responsibilities include replenishing Pyxis machines, monitoring refrigerator temps, counting and repackaging pharmaceuticals, and ensuring proper billing and waste documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for Pharmacy Technician roles.
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician license (PA) required upon hire.
• New Jersey registration must be obtained within 180 days of hire for NJ entities with a technician on staff.
• PTCB certification must be achieved within 12 months or proof of training program completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders from physicians for pharmacist review.
• Replenish Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temperatures with documentation.
• Count, compound, and repack pharmaceuticals per established procedures.
• Dispense and distribute medications to patient areas and restock inventory.
• Perform billing/crediting functions and document waste per hospital policy.
• Maintain aseptic technique for IV preparation and transport to nursing areas.
