Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and support daily workflow for the clinical team and patients.

Responsibilities include preparing drug orders for pharmacist review, replenishing Pyxis machines, IV preparation, inventory management, and ensuring proper documentation and billing. Applicable hospital experience and certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year of sterile compounding experience.
• CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire and
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff.
• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for review and dispensing by a Registered Pharmacist.
• Replenishes all Pyxis machines and documents temperature monitoring.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Distributes medications to patient areas and restocks inventory.
• Performs medication billing/crediting and documents waste.
• Collects physician orders from team centers and supports pharmacists.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas and carts.
• Uses aseptic techniques to prepare IVs and transports them.
• Maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson Automation, and CAPS.
• Ensures items are checked for expiration and proper storage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
