Job summary
Albert Einstein Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparation and filling of medications for inpatient and outpatient services. You will support daily workflow, ensure proper medications and tools are available for clinical teams and patients, and participate in billing and inventory processes.
The role involves sterile compounding, IV preparation, Pyxis replenishment, and maintaining compliance with department and hospital procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience.
- 1 year sterile compounding experience.
- Strong knowledge of metric system conversions and calculation of ratio and proportions.
- Passing score of 90% on calculation exam, aseptic preparation exam, safe handling of hazardous drugs and practicum.
- CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Upon Hire.
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson values.
- Prepares drug orders from physicians for review and dispensing by a pharmacist.
- Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures with documentation.
- Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
- Dispenses medications and manages inventory, including restocking department and nursing units.
- Handles billing/crediting functions for medications and documents waste.
