Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support clinical pharmacy services under supervision, including preparation of IV admixtures and medication distribution.

You will fill orders, enter charges, stock supplies, operate Pyxis Robotics, and maintain records per department procedures. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a certified tech program; NC Board registration within 180 days; rotating full-time shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Acceptance into pharmacy school.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
• Must be registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare intravenous admixtures or other sterile products.
• Fill physician orders, medication carts, or stock requisitions.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas.
• Enter charges and credits for patient medications.
• Enter medication orders into the pharmacy computer system.
• Provide technical support for automated equipment (Pyxis Robotics).
• Stock medications and supplies; package medications as required.
• Monitor quality improvement indicators and maintain documentation.
