Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support sterile compounding and distribution for hospitals and clinics across North Carolina. The role involves a rotation of day, evening, and weekend shifts and participation in an incentive program.

The position requires NC Board of Pharmacy registration as a technician, CPT/ExCPT credentials, and preferred completion of a formal technician training program. Prior pharmacy technician experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Registration as a technician with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required.
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA; PharmD program waiver option.
• Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred, current PharmD student allowed as intern.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills medication and supply orders for hospitals and clinics within UNC Health system.
• Performs sterile compounding of medication batches.
• Coordinates shipments with couriers and ensures temperature requirements (cold chain, room temp).
• Documents distribution activities and ensures data accuracy using systems.
• Responds to and triages requests for pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
